Zusammenfassung:The 70th Euroconstruct Conference, held by Buildecon in Budapest on 2-3 December 2010 forecasted a further decline of construction output by 3.3 percent on average in the Euroconstruct member countries in 2010. The building sector faces the strongest downturn with a reduction in volume which is slightly over 7 percent in new residential and in non-residential construction. According to the new country-by-country analysis done by the 19 Euroconstruct members, 2011 will be a year of change. Housing construction will increase by 3 percent next year; only the UK, Ireland and Portugal are forecasting a shrinking market. On the other hand non-residential construction performs still very poor. This sector will experience the slowest recovery among all sectors; the output in 2013 will hardly reach the level of the early 2000s. The Euroconstruct Country Report provides detailed information on the construction market development in the 19 Euroconstruct member countries until 2013. The forecasts are based on a comparable harmonised dataset for the major construction sectors and also include the macroeconomic framework.
