Zusammenfassung:The current recession is the most challenging in the construction industry for decades. Construction output fell in the Euroconstruct area by 8.8 percent last year and in 2010 a further contraction of 4.0 percent is expected. However, the development of the construction industry among the 19 countries varies strongly: at one extreme Ireland, Spain and Portugal are expected to record further deep cuts in construction output in 2010. At the other extreme, Poland has been barely affected by the crisis and its construction industry is expected to grow by 10 percent in 2010. Against the low construction output level in the whole Euroconstruct area, the outlook for 2011 and 2012 shows a marginal increase. – The Euroconstruct Country Report provides detailed information on the construction market development in the 19 Euroconstruct member countries until 2012. The forecast is based on a comparable harmonised dataset for the major construction sectors and also includes the macroeconomic framework.
