Zusammenfassung:Foreign direct investment is a prominent part of economic relations between Eastern and Western Europe, which is still insufficiently documented. This 12th report combines data stocks assembled by WIIW and WIFO, and it contains statistics on FDI in Eastern Europe and the former USSR since 1992, including preliminary figures on 2001 and projections for 2002. The structures, economic importance and current trends are documented and commented. Special attention is given to Austrian FDI in Eastern Europe. In addition to new investment and FDI stocks, the report also examines Austria's market shares. A methodological overview is included as an annex.
