| Zusammenfassung: | abstract: this paper on discrimination of women at work points to how protective legislation for women contributes to the discrimination of gainful employed women. first a historical summary on the development of protective legislation in the last century is given, this will be followed by a closer look at particular types of special protection in austria and germany. a short summary of legislation in other european countries will complete this chapter. on the basis of theoretical reflections and legal criterias of discrimination, protective legislation for women will be examined with regard to it's discriminating effects.; |
